That poor poor punching bag..
So E3 has been a bit hum drum this year, more and more I find myself looking at the presentations and asking myself ‘Who are they talking to?’.
The Microsoft Glass talk seemed to be more about tech for a home entertainment system. I may be a bit of a purist, but I think people are already on their smart phones too often while watching a movie, and it all ties into a particular streaming service, which I’m not a huge fan of. I like owning Blu-Rays, DVDs, physical copies, I can’t bring myself to spend money on a streaming service. If I really want movie trivia or release info, it’s all on wikipedia.
On the other hand, I was blown away by Naughty Dogs The Last of Us gameplay video. I was already excited for this, and now 2013 literally cannot come soon enough (especially since I’m eagerly awaiting the new season of Venture Brothers as well). The blunt reality of Ellie and Joel’s situation becomes clear in this footage, you can feel the tension, even Ellie doesn’t agree with the survival choices you can make here. The AI is pretty scary in terms of how it approaches you, reacting and adapting, calling for backup, listening for weaknesses.
Also thought this Rayman Legends clip was pretty slick, it’s like a platform game, with a rhythm game, with Muse somehow in there.
